Pati Tumpengan Residents at the KPK After Sadewo was a Suspect: Form of Gratitude

JAKARTA - The United Farmers Community Alliance (AMPB) held a thanksgiving at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta today. They brought four large tampah of tumpeng rice to celebrate the arrest of the non-active Pati Regent Sudewa or Sudewo.

Sudewo is now a KPK prisoner because he was caught in a hand-catching operation (OTT) related to the alleged extortion of village device placement in Pati Regency. In addition, he was also named a suspect in the DJKA project bribery case in his capacity as a member of Commission V of the DPR for the 2020-2024 period.

"This mound and so on is purely community self-help and this is a form of gratitude from the Pati community for the KPK's firmness on the opportunity yesterday, namely the OTT of corrupt individuals in our area," said the spokesperson for the United Pati Community Alliance, Syaiful Bahri to reporters at the location, Thursday, February 12.

Syaiful said that the Pati community continued to support the KPK in investigating corruption allegations in their area. "Because we are very angry," he said.

"Therefore, our hope is that in addition to being prosecuted, in the future we hope that the KPK can synergize with AMPB or the pati community to provide anti-corruption education or education," continued Syaiful.

In addition, AMPB representatives also had an audience with the KPK. During the activity, they also complained about agrarian problems in Pati Regency.

"Actually in Pati there is also an agrarian problem that is the same as Cilacap Regency, namely that is carried out by PT RSA. Hopefully the corrupt issue at PT RSA, which indicates that PT RSA is corrupt in Pati Regency or in Cluwak District, will also be included in the KPK's action," he said.

This action was attended by dozens of Pati residents who came using buses. "Don't let the wind get in. Insyaallah, we will always be consistent in monitoring what the KPK has done," said Syaiful.

As previously reported, the KPK named Sudewo as the Regent of Pati as a suspect in alleged extortion of filling village apparatus positions with Abdul Suyono (YON) as the Karangrowo Kades, Jakenan District; Sumarjiono (JION) as the Arumanis Kades, Jakenan District; and Karjan (JAN) as the Sukorukun Kades, Jakenan District.

Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that the tariff of Rp. 165-225 million must be paid by the prospective village apparatus (caperdes). This figure is said to have been marked up by Abdul Suyono and Sumarjiono from Rp. 125-150 million.

There was also a threat, namely that the village apparatus formation would not be reopened the following year if the caperdes did not want to hand over the money. During the silent operation, the KPK then secured Rp. 2.6 billion which had previously been stored in sacks.

As a result of his actions, Sudewo and his colleagues were suspected of violating Article 12 letter e of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 jo Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code.

They were also detained for the first 20 days at the KPK Detention Center. This detention will be extended as needed by investigators.
