BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java, has realized a budget of IDR 60 billion for development in the Muaragembong District as a form of serious attention as well as an effort to accelerate and equalize development in the north.
Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Bekasi Regency, Dwy Sigit Andrian, said that the budget was allocated for the construction of a number of roads, bridges, and public facilities as strategic projects in the region.
"For the Muaragembong District in 2026, it received the largest allocation compared to other districts. With a budget of more than Rp60 billion, specifically for Muaragembong," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 11.
He explained that the allocation of development financing for Muaragembong is a manifestation of the commitment of the local government so that the area can be on par with other sub-districts in terms of infrastructure for improving mobility and the level of community welfare.
"We optimize development so that in the future Muaragembong can develop like the southern regions. Maybe it will develop not from the industrial sector like in the south, it can be for the development of marine tourism for example," he said.
Sigit encouraged active community involvement to oversee the development process so that it runs optimally. The private sector is also asked to contribute to supporting development in the region.
"Collaboration with other parties is needed to encourage acceleration of development. If it is only based on the APBD, it will certainly not be enough," he said.
He and the planning team will also review all development proposals by the Muaragembong District community for the 2027 fiscal year so that they can be realized to the maximum.
"We have accommodated all the proposals, we will discuss with the team so that all the proposals of Muaragembong District in 2027 can be accommodated," he said.
Camat Muaragembong Sukarmawan welcomed the great attention of the Bekasi Regency Government to his area and hoped that the focus on development in the northern area would continue to be improved to balance the pace of development between the north and south.
"This concept of development puts forward the principle of justice and equity so that the results of development in Bekasi Regency can be felt by all people, especially from various corners both in the north and south," he said.
Referring to the data for the realization of the 2026 development plan, there are 18 to 20 points of development activities that will be realized by the Bekasi Regency Government in a total of six villages in Muaragembong District.
Among them are the construction and improvement of main roads connecting villages, the construction of four bridge points, public road lighting (PJU), neighborhood roads, and the construction of sports facilities at four schools.
Sukarmawan hopes that the optimization of physical development can go hand in hand with non-physical development such as the quality of human resources in terms of educational qualifications to improve the overall living standards of the community.
"The quality or quality of these students and students, in the future, must also be considered. Hopefully, after studying, they can come back here to build Muaragembong," he said.
