JAKARTA - A joint SAR team evacuated the body of David (21) of Papua New Guinea (PNG) who died after being attacked by a crocodile while fishing in the Tami River, Moso Village, Jayapura City.

David's body was found after the team conducted a search using a drone and was about 500 meters from the crime scene in a dead state.

"Currently, the body has been evacuated and is at Bhayangkara Hospital," said Head of the Jayapura SAR Office Anton Sucipto in Sentani, Wednesday, February 11.

The incident that befell the victim occurred on Tuesday (10/2) while fishing with his colleagues in the Tami River in Kampung Moso and suddenly the victim was bitten by a crocodile which then dragged him into the river.

The incident was then reported by David Prawar to the Sentani SAR Office, which was then coordinated with the Muara Tami Police and the victim's family for a search.

"The search has been carried out since Tuesday (10/2) using various equipment owned but was not found and continued Wednesday (11/2) until it was found and evacuated," said Anton Sucipto.

Kampung Moso, Muara Tami District, is a village that borders directly with PNG.
