Police Uncover Semi-Hydroponic Cannabis Farm Owned by an Influencer at Scandi House 9 Jagakarsa Housing

JAKARTA - The Narcotics Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police has dismantled a practice of cultivating marijuana with a semi-hydroponic system carried out by an influencer with the initials AW in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta. From the suspect's house, the police confiscated more than 6 kilograms of ready-to-use marijuana and complete modern planting equipment.

Head of Narcotics of South Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Prasetyo Nugroho said the disclosure of the case began with community information regarding the alleged production of Schedule I narcotics at Scandi House 9 Housing, Cluster Kavling 11E, Jalan Cempedak, Srengseng Sawah Village, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

During the search, his party secured two people at the location, namely AW who was suspected of being an influencer or content creator, and a woman with the initials LPM who was his wife.

"From the search results, a vacuum sealer, plastic containing marijuana in the refrigerator, a cooler box containing eight packages of marijuana that have been vacuumed, as well as a number of other supporting tools were found," he said at a press conference at the South Jakarta Police, Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Not only that, in AW's house a digital scale, a grinder for crushing marijuana, eight vaporizer devices, and a container containing dry marijuana that had been neatly packaged were also found.

"Then the person concerned also showed and directed to the 4th floor. On that floor, the suspect admitted producing marijuana narcotics from nurseries, sowing, separating the buds into several pots of plants with a semi-hydroponic system until they were ready to be harvested," he said.

"Evidence was also found in the form of devices for planting marijuana, such as two large and small grow tents, fans, blowers, plant pots, and pH water measuring devices," he continued.

Prasetyo said that other evidence seized included sacks containing 541 grams and 3,123 grams of marijuana, as well as a number of other cultivation equipment.

According to the suspect's confession, the cultivation of marijuana was carried out from January 2023 to January 2024. During this period, he harvested marijuana every three months with a yield of around 1 to 1.5 kilograms per harvest.

Some of the harvest is dried, packaged, then vacuumed for personal stock. Meanwhile, some of the others are processed into liquid marijuana using herbal infuser or botanical extractor mixed with alcohol and left for three days before extracting the extract.

"The suspect admitted to planting it himself in order to get the best quality marijuana without having to buy it. The seeds were obtained through the dark web from abroad," he explained.

The total evidence seized amounted to 6.031 grams, consisting of 5.991 grams of solid marijuana and six injections containing marijuana liquid with a gross weight of 40 grams.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 610 paragraph (2) letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and/or Article 111 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a threat of death penalty, life imprisonment, or a maximum of 20 years in prison.

"Meanwhile, his wife is charged with Article 131 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics because she is suspected of knowing but not reporting the crime, with a maximum penalty of one year in prison," he concluded.
