Strong-built Man Attacks and Steals Boyfriend's Phone at Sawah Besar Dormitory

JAKARTA - A CCTV recording of an act of violence and robbery against a hostel resident in the Gunung Sahari area, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta, went viral on the instagram social media.

The perpetrator, who is a tall man, was caught on camera committing acts of violence and abuse against a woman who is suspected of being his girlfriend.

In the video footage that circulated, it was seen that there was a scuffle that ended with the victim lying in the room.

When the victim stood up, he was again abused by the perpetrator. The victim also fell down when he was abused by the perpetrator. The incident occurred inside the victim's room, while the door to the room was open until it was recorded by the CCTV camera outside the room.

After torturing the victim, the perpetrator was reported to have also seized the victim's cellphone and ATM card. After successfully getting the target goods, the perpetrator then left the victim casually.

As a result of the violence and persecution, the victim suffered a number of injuries. The victim also reported the incident to the Sawah Besar Police.

Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri confirmed the incident. According to him, the incident occurred on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at around 20.30 WIB.

"The victim made a complaint to the Sawah Besar Police. However, until now the victim has not made a Police Report," said Iptu Erlyn when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
