BOGOR - A man was found dead in a second floor rented room in Kampung Cilebut Kaum, Cilebut Timur Village, Sukaraja District, Bogor Regency, Tuesday, February 10 afternoon, after residents smelled a pungent smell from inside the building.
The victim is known as ODP (44), a private employee from Surabaya, East Java. The discovery began at around 13.00 WIB when the neighbors suspected the unpleasant smell coming out of the victim's room. When checked, the door of the room was open and the victim was found lying down in a lifeless state.
Sukaraja Police Chief Kompol Wagiman said the condition of the body was swollen, bluish, and stiff, allegedly having died some time before it was found.
"The victim was found dead in the room. His condition was rotten," said Wagiman.
Because the location is on the second floor with narrow stairs and the condition of the body is swollen, the police coordinated with the Bogor Police identification team and asked for the help of firefighters to assist in the evacuation process.
The body was then taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for a visum to determine the cause of death. The police have also carried out an investigation at the crime scene and examined a number of witnesses.
Until now, the cause of death is still under investigation, while the victim's family in Surabaya is being contacted.
