Liquid Zombie Contains Etomidate, Users Can Faint Even Die

JAKARTA - The results of the investigation of the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Tanjung Priok Port Police against 4 suspects of cartridge of electric cigarettes containing zombie liquid containing the drug type etomidate turned out to be an international network.

"The suspect is an international network that acts as a courier by picking up and distributing narcotics of class 2 type etomidate in the form of pod packaging or cartridge of an electric cigarette in the Jakarta area and its surroundings," said the Head of the Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKBP Aris Wibowo when confirmed, Tuesday, February 10.

The Police Chief said that etomidate is a narcotic of group 2 based on the Minister of Health Regulation (Permenkes) number 15 of 2025 concerning changes in the classification of narcotics which was fixed on November 21, 2025.

"The misuse of etomidate used as a mixture in e-cigarettes can cause users to faint instantly, convulsions, and even death," he said.

The police also seized evidence of 5,428 pods or cartridges of e-cigarettes containing etomidate-type liquids.

"Other evidence seized was one plane ticket from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Kuala Lumpur (Medan)," he said.

The Police Chief said that from the results of uncovering this network, the Police can break the chain of distribution of narcotics.

"We have managed to save more than 30,000 lives," he said.

The Police Chief appealed to the public to stay away from drugs and report to the police through the 110 contact center if they know there are perpetrators of drug abuse.

"The war on drugs is not over, we will not stop fighting, the country must not lose. The National Police is committed to continuing to uncover the illegal circulation of drugs in order to break the chain of distribution and save the future generation of the nation towards a golden Indonesia 2045," he concluded.
