DKI Provincial Government Holds Free Homecoming Again This Year, Quota Increased

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold a free homecoming program for Jakarta residents who want to go home to celebrate Eid al-Fitr this year.

Assistant for Economic and Financial Affairs of the DKI Jakarta Regional Government, Suharini Eliawati, said that the quota for free homecoming participants this year will be more than last year. In 2025, the quota for free homecoming is 22 thousand people, and an addition in the second wave with a total of 26 thousand people.

"So this year, we, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, will still hold a free homecoming. In fact, because there are several collaborators who are willing, the number of people who will be facilitated will increase," said Suharini at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday. 10 February.

Currently, the DKI Provincial Government is still preparing mechanisms and preparations for the fleet to transport residents who will later become free homecoming participants to a number of areas.

"Later we are preparing the registration process so that it is more transparent, then the KTP is the Jakarta KTP. Later it will start and we will announce it far in advance," said Suharini.

It is known that free homecoming is an annual program that is usually held by the government every Eid al-Fitr period. This program is carried out with the aim of minimizing the use of private vehicles and encouraging the use of mass public transportation, as well as reducing the number of traffic accidents during the homecoming and return period.

As in previous years, the DKI Provincial Government also sent two-wheeled vehicles for pilgrims who were escorted before the participants of the homecoming departed.

For your information, the DKI Provincial Government's homecoming destination cities in 2025 include Palembang City, Lampung City, Tasikmalaya City, Kuningan Regency, Tegal City, Pekalongan City, Semarang City, Kebumen Regency, Cilacap Regency, Purwokerto City, Solo City, Wonogiri Regency, Wonosobo Regency, Sragen Regency, Yogyakarta City, Madiun City, Kediri City, Jombang Regency, Malang City, and Sidoarjo Regency.
