JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana regarding the Synergy of the Implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program.
In the ceremony, it was agreed that from now on, regional business entities (BUMD) can become suppliers of food materials to be distributed to nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG) that produce MBG menus.
"One of the things we signed is because the supply chain problem in Jakarta is indeed a problem that must be managed well. I believe that the supply chain or supply chain related to the needs of the Nutrition Agency is managed well," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, February 9.
Pramono assessed that this cooperation is necessary to maintain the supply of food ingredients in the sustainability of President Prabowo Subianto's flagship program. According to Pramono, good supply chain management is the key to maintaining Jakarta's inflation stability.
Moreover, Pramono believes that this cooperation will not make the stock of food materials managed by the DKI BUMD become thin, even scarce in the market. Because, the company owned by the DKI Provincial Government is said to have experience in maintaining food supplies.
"Moreover, the amount of consumption has not increased much. So, I believe it will not cause concern about scarcity, rising prices, uncontrolled inflation, and so on," said Pramono.
"We have calculated, we guarantee that this cooperation is actually very beneficial for BUMD. Why? Because there is certainty of purchase and so on, and so on. So what was a concern, I am sure it will not happen," he continued.
In fact, Pramono offered Bank Jakarta as a regional development bank (BPD) for the DKI Provincial Government to channel credit to SPPG-SPPG that still need operational capital.
"If later there are those who have not covered the financing, please professionally Bank Jakarta, I give the opportunity to be able to handle it," said Pramono.
Meanwhile, the Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana explained, currently 475 or 60 percent of the SPPG needs in Jakarta have served MBG to schools. Now, about 566 SPPG are in the process of starting operations. BGN targets more than 1,000 SPPG to serve MBG over the next two months.
"In fact, there are several sub-districts in West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta that were initially less interested (in becoming SPPG), now they are full in a short time," said Dadan.
From the projection, Dadan assessed that efforts to maintain the availability of food materials for the MBG program in the capital region were important. Considering that, unlike other regions, Jakarta is not a food producing area due to limited agricultural land.
"What is much more important in the future is how to meet the supply chain. This will be a fairly dominant issue because the purchase of SPPG is quite massive and we must ensure that the needs can be met but the price can still be controlled," he concluded.
