Israel's Doctrine of Domination, Iran: Weaken the Military, Technology, Economy of Neighboring Countries

JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Minister (Menlu) Abbas Araghchi assessed that Israel had carried out a doctrine of domination by continuing to expand its military grip through attacks on its neighboring countries while threatening that its opponents would disarm.

This was conveyed by Araghchi one day after the latest round of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States (US) which began since Friday morning.

"Israel's expansionist projects require neighboring countries to be weakened: militarily, technologically, economically, and socially," Araghchi said while attending the 17th edition of the Al Jazeera Forum in Doha, the capital of Qatar, Saturday, quoted by AFP.

According to Araghchi, Israel continues to pressure other countries through threats or the military with the aim of holding control. On the one hand, other countries do not get the same rights as Israel can.

"Under this project, Israel is free to expand its military arsenal without limit... But other countries are required to disarm. Other countries are pressured to reduce defense capacity. Other countries are punished for scientific progress," he added.

"This is a doctrine of domination," Araghchi said.

The latest round of nuclear talks in Muscat, Oman, comes after weeks of heated tensions between Iran and the US followed by President Donald Trump's threat to deploy US military forces, including aircraft carriers, to the Iranian region.

During the talks, the US sought to discuss Iran's ballistic missile program and its support for militant groups in the region - issues that Israel pushed to be included in the talks at the agency.

Nuclear discussions between the US and Iran have previously been recorded as having failed as Israel launched an unprecedented bombing campaign against Iran in June 2025, resulting in a 12-day war.
