JAKARTA - The Supreme Court (MA) has confirmed that the Deputy Chairman of the Depok District Court (PN) BS was subjected to a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding alleged bribes in handling cases.
"The information is correct, nggih, correct," said MA spokesman Yanto, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 6.
However, he admitted that he did not know more details about the number of judicial apparatuses involved in the operation. "I don't know (the number) clearly, the deputy," he said.
MA, added Yanto, will convey the institution's response to the controversy on Monday (9/2) next week.
"Monday is a press release (press conference, ed.) because all the leaders are in Yogyakarta again," he said without detailing the agenda of the MA leadership.
Previously, the KPK revealed the arrest of a judge in a hand-in-hand operation or OTT in Depok, West Java. The OTT was about alleged bribery cases.
Deputy Chairman of the KPK Fitroh Rohcahyanto said the KPK also confiscated money in the OTT in question.
"There are hundreds of millions of rupiah," he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu explained that there was an alleged transfer of money in the case.
"There is a lot of money that is transferred from the private sector to law enforcement," he said.
However, he did not elaborate further on the transfer of the money because the KPK was still conducting an in-depth investigation.
When confirmed that the OTT was related to the issue of land disputes in Depok that harmed the private sector, then the person in question was suspected of bribing the Deputy Chairman of the Depok PN BS, Asep, implicitly confirming it.
"In general, it is like that," he said briefly.
On the other hand, KY has conveyed the agency's response to this OTT. In his statement, Friday, Deputy Chairman of KY Desmihardi specifically mentioned the name of the Deputy Chairman of PN Depok.
"The alleged actions of the PN Depok Waka have also ignored President Prabowo's instructions, which have given special attention to the welfare of judges by increasing judges' allowances," he said, referring to the President's policy of increasing judges' salaries by 280 percent.
