Tomorrow, the East Java Governor Khofifah will testify in court regarding the East Java Grant Fund case.

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will present the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa as a witness in the bribery trial for the East Java Provincial Community Group (Pokmas) Grant 2019-2022. The trial will be held at the Surabaya District Court, Thursday, February 5.

"In the trial of the East Java pokmas grant case, from the BAP (News of the Examination) read by the JPU, the judge then asked the JPU to present the witness of the Governor of East Java," KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, February 4.

In the BAP, Khofifah and her deputy, Emil Elistianto Dardak or Emil Dardak, received fees or ijon from the East Java Provincial DPRD pokir fund of 30 percent. So, the statement is needed to make the case that is being tried clear.

"Witnesses are needed for their statements regarding the implementation of grants in the East Java Provincial Government. Witnesses are scheduled to attend the trial at the Surabaya District Court," said Budi.

The KPK had previously also examined Khofifah in July 2025. The examination was carried out at the East Java Police and the National Awakening Party (PKB) politician was questioned about the APBD used for East Java grant funds in the case.

As previously reported, the KPK announced 21 suspects of bribery in the management of grant funds for community groups (pokmas) in East Java Province in 2019-2022. Among them are Kusnadi as the former Chairman of the East Java Provincial DPRD and DPR RI legislator Anwar Sadad who had served as Deputy Chairman of the East Java DPRD.

"After a series of investigative and investigative activities, based on the sufficiency of evidence, the KPK then named 21 suspects," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters, Thursday, September 2, 2025.

Asep also explained that this bribery case was an expansion of the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) which ensnared Sahat Tua P. Simanjuntak as Deputy Chairman of the East Java Provincial DPRD for the 2019-2024 period.
