JAKARTA - The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) sealed a shrimp farm owned by a foreign company on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), because it did not handle permits during 10 years of operating a shrimp farming business in the area.
"The company is suspected of not having a company permit in the form of CBIB (Good Fish Farming Method)," said KKP Fisheries Resources Supervision Director Halid Jusuf, Tuesday, February 3, reported by ANTARA.
CBIB certification is proof of compliance with safe and sustainable fisheries cultivation standards. This permit is important for exports and regulatory compliance.
The submission of CBIB certification is carried out through the online system (OSS) or the local Fisheries Service with the main requirements of NIB, cultivation unit data, SOP, and location map.
Halid said the sealed shrimp farm business belonged to PT Ta Ching Windu Jaya. The foreign capital company is doing business in Obel-Obel Village, Sambelia District, East Lombok.
Ta Ching Windu Jaya's business activities are carried out on land with an area of about 1.1 hectares and have been operating since 2016. The company has 18 cultivation ponds and employs 24 people.
KKP found a number of inconsistencies through the results of document examination and technical analysis, namely not having a project code or brackish water crustacea expansion business at the activity location, not having a CBIB Certificate for medium and large business scales, and not submitting Periodic Business Activity Reports (LKU).
The KKP provided cumulative internal administrative sanctions in the form of a written reprimand for the violation of not submitting the LKU, an administrative fine and government coercion in the form of a temporary suspension of business activities for violations of not having a PB or PB UMKU.
"We give administrative sanctions to business actors in the form of temporary suspension of activities," said Halid.
He said that the management of foreign investment permits (PMA) must be carried out at the center, while the domestic investment permit (PMDN) can be handled at the provincial level.
The KKP has given a deadline of 30 days for companies to take care of permits to the center after sealing. If in a month they do not take care of permits, then the government can issue a recommendation to freeze permits until the permit is revoked.
"Now business actors do not have a license at all. The consequence is that if they do not carry out licensing management, then it will end with not being issued if they do not want to take care of it," concluded Halid.
Ta Ching Windu Jaya's director, Hung Meng Yu, argued that his party had handled the permit in 2025, but until now the permit had not been issued.
KKP through the Directorate General of Marine Resources and Fisheries Supervision (PSDKP) encourages business actors to comply with all applicable licensing provisions. Permits can be handled online through the integrated business licensing system or online single submission (OSS).
KKP continues to coordinate intensively with the Regional Marine and Fisheries Service to provide support for business actors in the process of managing the necessary business licenses.
