Fire in Koja Residents' Settlement Comes from AC Short Circuit

JAKARTA - A fire in a residential area on Jalan Langsat, RW 16, Lagoa Village, Koja District, North Jakarta, was successfully extinguished on Sunday, February 1, at around 17.26 WIB.

"Finally the blackout at 17.26 WIB. The loss is estimated at Rp. 10 million," said Kasiop Sudin Gulkarmat North Jakarta and Thousand Islands, Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed.

Gatot ensured that there were no casualties or injuries due to the fire incident.

"There were no victims. A total of 2 families were successfully rescued," he said.

Gatot suspected that the cause of the fire was due to an electrical short circuit in the AC at the location. Meanwhile, the fire occurred because the residents of the house went out and forgot to turn off the AC.

"It is suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in the air conditioner and the spark caused the fire," he said.

Previously reported, the settlement of residents on Jalan Langsat, RW 16, Lagoa Village, Koja District, North Jakarta, was hit by a fire on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in the afternoon.

The fire incident made a number of local residents shocked and panicked. Residents also packed their valuables.
