Jakarta Floods Again, Several Transjakarta Routes Are Replaced to Stop Operations

JAKARTA - Heavy rain that hit Jakarta since early morning caused waterlogging on a number of roads, Thursday, January 29 morning. This condition has an impact on Transjakarta operations which adjust services to maintain the safety of customers and fleets.

Head of the Transjakarta Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, said that rain, puddles, and traffic congestion at several points made a number of routes unable to be passed normally.

The adjustment was carried out in the form of route diversion, track alignment, to temporary suspension of operations.

"Due to heavy rain, waterlogging, and traffic congestion that occurred at several points in the Jakarta area this morning, the Transjakarta service has been adjusted for the safety of customers and the fleet," said Ayu Wardhani in a statement, Thursday, January 29.

Until 07.30 WIB, 28 routes were recorded to have been adjusted. Of these, 22 routes were directly affected by floodwater, consisting of one BRT route, two integrated public transport routes, and 19 Microtrans routes.

On the BRT service, Corridor 10 PGC 2-Tanjung Priok route was implemented. For integrated public transportation, the route 1M Blok M-Meruya and the route 3E Sentraland

Cengkareng-Puri Kembangan is also diverted. Meanwhile, on the Microtrans service, the routes that have been diverted include JAK.02 Kampung Melayu-Duren Sawit, JAK.05 Semper-Rorotan, JAK.08 Roxy-Hilir Dam, JAK.09 Roxy-Karet, JAK.100 Pulogebang-Rusun Pinus.

Then, JAK.102 Blok M-Lebak Bulus, JAK.105 Tebet Station-Rusun Cipinang Muara, JAK.118 Taman Papanggo-Old Town, JAK.27 Pulogebang-Rorotan, JAK.30 Meruya-Citraland, JAK.37 Cililitan-Condet via Kayu Manis, JAK.39 Kalimalang-Duren Sawit, JAK.50 Kalideres-Puri Kembangan, JAK.53 Grogol-Pos Pengumben via Slipi.

Then, JAK.56 Grogol 2-Srengseng, JAK.58 Cilincing-Rorotan, JAK.59 Rawa Sengon-Pasar Inpres Vespa, JAK.71 Kampung Rambutan-Pinang Ranti, JAK.86 Rawamangun Terminal-Manggarai Terminal, JAK.89 Tanjung Priok Terminal-Taman Kota Intan, dan JAK.90 Tanjung Priok Terminal-Rusun Kemayoran.

In addition to the transfer, several Microtrans routes experienced a deviation in the trajectory, namely JAK.22 Dwikora-Penas Kalimalang, JAK.40 Pulogebang-Pasar Modern, and JAK.85 Bintara-Cipinang Indah.

One route, JAK.112 Tanah Merah Terminal - Pulogadung, was temporarily suspended due to the condition of the puddle.

Transjakarta also noted delays in services in a number of areas due to waterlogging and traffic congestion. In the Petukangan area to the JORR Toll, delays occurred on Corridor 13, route 13B, L13E, and JAK.107 routes.

In the Cawang Central to Halim area, the delay affected Corridor 7, Corridor 9, and Corridor 10, as well as routes 4K, 5C, 7D, 7P, 7W, 9C, and JAK.22. Meanwhile, in the Pulo Nangka area towards Monas, waterlogging caused delays on Corridor 3, routes 2A, 3E, and 3F.

Ayu said that his party continued to monitor conditions on the ground and make adjustments according to the current situation.

"Transjakarta apologizes for the inconvenience of customer travel. We continue to monitor conditions in the field so that services can return to normal as soon as possible," he said.
