Mimpi Majelis Adat Betawi: Pramono mengakui beratnya Satukan Ego Para Tokoh

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that he was trying to realize the desire of former DKI Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo or Foke to unite various Betawi customary groups in one institution.

Pramono said that he had thought about the plan to form the Betawi customary assembly for some time. The institution is designed to shelter all Betawi community organizations in Jakarta.

However, Pramono admitted that efforts to unite adat leaders and Betawi organizations were not easy, especially because of the differences in the interests and egos of each party.

"What is the message from Bang Foke to the Betawi indigenous people, hopefully it will be completed soon. This turns out to be more difficult, because it is difficult to unite egos, to unite the various interests of people," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, January 28.

He explained that the Betawi customary assembly will later be placed in line with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in the form of a strategic partnership to advance Betawi culture.

Pramono admitted that he had tried to provide this understanding to the customary leaders and leaders of Betawi organizations. In fact, he said that he had visited and contacted them one by one in order to realize a common agreement.

"Until all the figures I datengin one by one, I call one by one. Everything is 'yes', once I meet 'no' again. Yes, we embrace again until 'yes'," he said.

On that occasion, Pramono emphasized that the main task of a leader is to solve problems, not to add new conflicts. Therefore, during his leadership of Jakarta, he claimed to have tried to avoid internal conflicts.

"I feel that during my tenure as Governor of DKI Jakarta for almost a year, this month is one year, next month is one year, I feel that I have never been angry," said Pramono.

He added that his leadership approach is oriented towards solutions and long-term strategies, especially in resolving long-standing problems in Jakarta that have not been completed in the previous government period.

"If you look at what I did, all the policies of the old governor, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, I mean, that were not completed, bismillah I will finish," said Pramono.

A number of issues that are now beginning to show progress, including the demolition of the broken monorail pole, the construction of a bridge connecting the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) with the Ancol area, and the resolution of the dispute over the Sumber Waras Hospital land and its use.

Pramono emphasized that a leader must think as a statesman, setting aside personal interests for the greater good.

"Because the statesman is the key word for leaders, thinking about anything is no longer about the individual, but the broader context," concluded Pramono.
