However, Tito emphasized that all procurement processes must remain accountable and transparent, and must not be misused for personal interests or corruption practices.
"(If the emergency response is closed, procurement), it must go through the open bidding mechanism, auction, which may take a long time. But in times of emergency like this that need speed, yes, there are rules in times of emergency that can be procured with direct appointment so that it is fast," said the Minister of Home Affairs.
He emphasized that every acceleration policy would continue to be monitored by the government's internal supervisory apparatus as well as the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency so that it complies with the rules.
With this mechanism, the government hopes that the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Aceh Tamiang can run faster, more effectively, and still uphold the principles of clean governance.
