Jakarta - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has recorded the coverage of Green Open Space (RTH) in 2025 is still in the single digit. Although there has been an increase compared to the previous year, the proportion of RTH is still far from the long-term target set by the local government.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Atika Nur Rahmania said that Jakarta's RTH in 2025 was recorded at 5.6 percent. This figure is increasing compared to the 2024 realization which is at the level of 5.36 percent.

"Green open space in Jakarta (in 2025) is 5.60 percent. This figure increased by 0.24 percent from the 2024 realization of 5.36 percent," said Atika at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, January 21.

However, the DKI Provincial Government admitted that the achievement was still far from the ideal provision. The government targets that Jakarta's RTH portion can reach 30 percent by 2045 as stated in the regional long-term development plan.

Where, in the Spatial Planning Law Number 26 of 2007, it is mandated that every city must have RTH at least 30 percent of its area. In detail, 20 percent of public RTH is provided by the local government and 10 percent of private RTH is provided by private parties or building and housing owners.

To pursue this target, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is said to be preparing a number of strategies that are carried out gradually. Efforts to increase RTH do not only rely on regional spending through the APBD, but also utilize various schemes and other resources.

"Gradually, we are implementing several strategies. Because of course it is not limited to spending from the APBD alone, but also utilizing various efforts," he said.

One of the steps taken is to maximize the collection of social facilities and public facilities (fasos-fasum) obligations from developers. In addition, the Provincial Government also encourages the use of unused land to be converted into green open spaces.

Atika emphasized that the effort to increase Jakarta's RTH cannot be carried out by the government alone. It requires collaboration across regional devices and community participation so that the target that has been announced can be achieved.

"This indeed requires extraordinary synergy from all stakeholders in the Provincial Government and also throughout the community," he said.

In the leadership of the Governor-Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, the development of green open spaces is one of the DKI Provincial Government's priority programs for the next five years.

Assistant for Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Suharini Eliawati, explained that currently the construction of RTH is in 21 locations.

"Among them, the largest is RTH Cempaka Putih Bintaro, then RTH Pratama, and RTH Taman Pandawa which we know is Sensori," said Suharini.

The DKI Provincial Government is also carrying out the construction of the Pusaka Flag Park which integrates three parks in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, namely Langsat Park, Ayodya Park, and Leuser Park. In line with this, the DKI Provincial Government has also started to open or activate the 24-hour city park.

"In addition to opening 24-hour parks, shortly later the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also process the current process of uniting the three parks in the South Jakarta area," he said.
