BOGOR - The People's School in Bogor City is targeted to start operating in July 2027. The target operational time was conveyed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) Robben Rico when reviewing the land for the potential location of the People's School in Rancamaya Village, South Bogor District, Tuesday, January 20.
Robben said that the site review was the initial stage before the physical construction began. The planning and technical study process will be carried out immediately, including checking the contour of the land in an area of about five hectares which is prepared as a school location.
"Today we are starting the initial steps by seeing the conditions of the location. Next, a study and planning will be carried out. Insyaallah, at the latest in June, it will enter the auction stage and start the initial work," said Robben.
He emphasized that in the next six months, the Ministry of Social Affairs together with the Ministry of Public Works and the Bogor City Government would maximize the construction process so that the People's School could be used in July next year. This school is designed to accommodate Bogor City children who are currently still attending school outside the area, such as Cibinong.
The Bogor City People's School is planned to have a minimum capacity of 1,000 to 1,080 students with the concept of boarding school. All educational and student life activities will take place for 24 hours in the school environment.
"Because this is a boarding school, the learning and coaching process takes place 24 hours a day. Students do not go home every day, but stay in the People's School dormitory," said Robben.
The physical development of the school will be carried out by the Ministry of Public Works with facilities including classrooms, student dormitories, laboratories, places of worship, fields, multipurpose buildings, and dormitories for teaching and educational staff.
Meanwhile, Bogor City Regional Secretary Denny Mulyadi hopes that the construction of the People's School can proceed according to plan so that it can immediately provide benefits to the community.
