Two teenage boys riding a Yamaha Fazzio motorcycle were caught on CCTV when they stole a bag containing millions of rupiah in a motorcycle workshop in the Marunda area, Cilincing District, North Jakarta.
Cilincing Police Chief AKP Bobi Subasri said, based on the victim's statement with the initials S (68) as the owner of the workshop and a witness with the initials EB, the theft was only known after the victim saw the CCTV footage at the scene.
When the incident occurred, the workshop was already open and the victim was sleeping inside the workshop.
"Initially, two people suspected of being perpetrators passed by the workshop in a tandem. Because they saw the victim was sleeping, they then turned back towards the workshop," said AKP Bobi when confirmed, Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Upon arrival at the location, one of the perpetrators slowly entered the workshop and took a bag without the owner's permission.
"The bag contains cash amounting to Rp. 1 million with hundreds of thousands of rupiah," he said.
The victim then reported the incident to the Cilincing Police. Until now, the police are still collecting witness statements and matching CCTV footage.
"We have known the identity of the perpetrator. Currently, the perpetrator is still being pursued by members of the Cilincing Police Criminal Investigation Unit," said AKP Bobi.
He also appealed to his staff to respond quickly to every community report in order to provide the best service.
