BANDUNG - One car theft perpetrator was reported dead after the stolen vehicle he was carrying was involved in a traffic accident in the Purwakarta Regency area, West Java.

Antapani Police Chief Kompol Yusuf Tojiri said the Colt L300 type car with the license plate D 8518 AM belonged to a resident of Antapani, Bandung City, who had previously reported it missing on Monday, January 19.

"Antapani Police received information from the Laka Lantas Unit of the Purwakarta Police that the stolen vehicle had a traffic accident in the jurisdiction of the Purwakarta Police," said Yusuf when confirmed in Bandung, Antara, Tuesday, January 20.

Based on the results of coordination with the Purwakarta Police, it was found that the car was stolen by three perpetrators.

The three of them have initials GP (22) and US (37) residents of Babakan Sari, Kiaracondong District, and LN (21) residents of Cicadas Village, Cibeunying Kidul District, Bandung City.

"As a result of the accident, one perpetrator on behalf of US died, while the other two perpetrators survived," he said.

Yusuf said, based on the video footage circulating on social media, the stolen white car was severely damaged and overturned, with the top of the vehicle broken.

Meanwhile, the two surviving perpetrators, namely GP and LN, have been picked up by the Ranmor Unit of the Bandung Police to undergo further examination and investigation.

"This case is still under investigation," he said.
