JAKARTA - A Suzuki Carry pickup truck hit two women who were sitting on the side of the road on the west direction of East Bekasi Highway, precisely near the Jatinegara Immigration Office, East Jakarta. As a result of the incident, one victim died at the scene.

Siti suffered serious injuries and died on the spot, then was evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital TK I Pusdokkes Polri, East Jakarta.
"As a result of the incident, the victim who was sitting on the side of the road on behalf of Siti Nurbaiti died at the scene and was evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital TK I Pusdokkes Polri East Jakarta," explained Darwis.
Meanwhile, another victim, Fitria Nur Apriyani (23) suffered minor injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
Darwis explained that the incident began when a pickup truck with the police number B-9542-TAG driven by S (36), a private employee from Demak, was traveling from east to west.
Then, as a result of the accident, the driver of the S pickup truck was reported to have only suffered minor injuries.
The vehicle he was driving was damaged and has been secured as evidence along with the driver's vehicle registration and driver's license.
Until now, the case of the accident is still under investigation by the East Jakarta Traffic Police Unit.
The police are also still looking for additional witnesses and surveillance camera (CCTV) footage around the location to determine the cause of the accident.
"We have visited the victim at the National Police Hospital, then we are looking for CCTV and witnesses to follow up on the report," said Darwis.
The Yanmas Laka 3 team of the East Jakarta Traffic Police has also carried out the crime scene and coordinated with the hospital for the victim's autopsy.
