JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Financial Supervisory Board (BPK) are urged to audit the management of evidence of alleged corruption at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero).
This demand was conveyed by the Kerakyatan Youth Association (SPKR) which held an action at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta and the BPK office, Monday, January 19. The recovery of state losses in the Jiwasraya corruption case which was only Rp5 trillion out of a total of Rp16 trillion was considered still low.
"This means that the recovery of state losses is only around 30 percent. This is an extremely unnatural figure and it is suspected that there are serious problems in the management of evidence assets," said Amri as the Coordinator of the SPKR while giving a speech.
According to Amri, this condition indicates the potential for irregularities, including new corruption allegations in the process of managing, assessing, and releasing state confiscated assets.
"So a thorough investigative audit needs to be carried out to prevent the risk of the state being harmed again. "The evidence should be the main instrument to recover state losses," he said.
"If the value actually shrinks drastically, then the public has the right to question where and how the assets are managed," said Amri.
In his demand, SPKR considered that the BPK had the authority to conduct the investigative audit. The results were then asked to be announced openly.
"We urge the KPK and BPK not only to conduct administrative audits, but also investigative audits that can reveal if there are criminal elements. The Jiwasraya case is a serious test for the state's commitment to eradicating corruption," he said.
In addition, SPKR also asked the KPK to investigate the role of Febrie Adryansah, the former Director of Investigation of Jampidsus who is currently serving as Jampidsus, regarding the issuance of a letter revoking the blocking of shares which resulted in the disappearance of confiscated assets worth around IDR 377.7 billion.
"We urge the KPK to trace the flow of communication and coordination between institutions and individuals related to the decision, and recalculate the potential loss of the state due to the alleged embezzlement of confiscated assets in corruption cases," Amri urged.
"The recovery of state losses must be maximized. Do not let the assets of corruption become a new field of corruption," he concluded.
