BANDUNG - PT KAI Regional Operation (Daop) 2 Bandung confirmed that it was still canceling the trip of three long-distance trains on Monday, although the railway line in the area of Daop 1 Jakarta and Daop 4 Semarang, which had previously been completely paralyzed due to flooding, can now be passed.

KAI Bandung Daop 2 Public Relations Manager Kuswardojo explained that the decision to cancel this was taken not because the line was not ready, but as a result of the normalization of operations and the rearrangement of train sets (rolling stock) that had been held up in various locations due to natural disturbances.

Kuswardojo explained that the recovery of railway operations could not be done instantly after the water receded, because the position of the train set had to be returned to the initial departure station gradually.

"Although the condition of the line in the affected area has gradually recovered, KAI Daop 2 Bandung still carries out operational normalization and arrangement of the train series gradually. This step is taken to ensure that travel safety, operational reliability, and customer service are well maintained," said Kuswardojo in Bandung, West Java, Antara, Monday, January 19.

The three trains that were forced to cancel their departure from the Bandung Daop 2 area today include popular routes to Jakarta and Semarang, namely:

- KA (137) Parahyangan Bandung-Gambir relationship, departure schedule at 13.05 WIB.

- KA (129) Papandayan Garut-Gambir relationship (departing Garut Station 12.40 WIB, departing Bandung Station 14.54 WIB).

- KA (173-172) Ciremai Bandung-Cikampek-Semarang Tawang, departure schedule at 16.55 WIB.

Kuswardojo emphasized that this adjustment was absolutely carried out so that the travel schedule in the following days could return to being stable without disruption of the availability of the series.

For customers whose tickets are affected by this Monday's cancellation, KAI guarantees that consumer rights are fully protected. Passengers are entitled to a 100 percent refund of the ticket fee (refund) in addition to the booking fee.

In order to facilitate customers and reduce queues at stations, KAI opened various channels for cancellation management.

"The process of canceling and returning the ticket fee can be done through the station counter, online service, KAI Contact Center 121, and the Access by KAI application," he said.

KAI has given passengers a long enough deadline to take care of the refund, namely up to seven days (7x24 hours) starting from the date and time of departure shown on the ticket.

Currently, infrastructure officers at Daop 1 Jakarta and Daop 4 Semarang continue to carry out intensive supervision to ensure that the line that has just recovered from the waterlogging is really safe and meets the safety standards for rail travel.

KAI Daop 2 Bandung appeals to the public to continue to monitor the latest developments through the company's official channels, given the operational situation which is still in the recovery phase after the flood.
