JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) is optimizing the distribution of the Housing Waiting Fund (DTH) for people affected by wet hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra as part of the acceleration of post-disaster recovery.
Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said that by mid-January 2026, the DTH application had reached 15,346 heads of households.
"Of this amount, 10,717 recipient accounts have been ready to be disbursed, while the total recipients who have received DTH assistance have reached 2,542 families," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 15.
He explained that DTH was given to help the basic needs of affected people during the transition from displacement to permanent housing, while waiting for the completion of temporary housing and permanent housing.
In line with the distribution of DTH, BNPB together with the local government also accelerates the construction of temporary housing (huntara).
BNPB reported that so far, out of a total of 51,306 houses that were severely damaged, 28,247 units have been proposed for construction, with 4,593 units still in the construction process and 262 units have been completed and are ready to be inhabited.
In addition, the submission of residential construction is recorded as many as 10,273 units, with 648 units of which have entered the construction phase in a number of affected areas.
Abdul added that logistical support and the recovery of basic infrastructure continued to run to create conditions that were increasingly conducive for people to return to their original environment. From the end of November 2025 to mid-January 2026, the total logistics mobilized reached 1,742 tons, with 99.2 percent having been distributed.
BNPB emphasized that the distribution of DTH and acceleration of housing development are the main priorities in the emergency transition phase to recovery, so that affected people can immediately live a safer, decent, and sustainable life after the disaster.
