The seven suspects are suspected of violating the provisions of Article 359 of the Criminal Code and or Article 360 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code concerning negligence which caused another person to die in a work accident on October 15, 2025.

In the accident of the MT Federal II ship repair work, 14 people died, and 17 others were injured.

Currently, the handling of the case, he said, the investigators of the Barelang Police Criminal Investigation Unit are preparing the case file to be immediately forwarded to the Batam District Attorney's Office.

"The file is being completed and we will immediately send it to the Prosecutor's Office," said Anggoro.
