JAKARTA - A number of students at SDN 05 Pademangan Timur, North Jakarta, suddenly panicked when the ceiling of their classroom suddenly collapsed on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 07.30 WIB.

The incident occurred when a number of students were eating nutritious free breakfast (MBG) in their classroom. The incident made the classroom situation noisy and a number of students panicked.

The cause of the collapse of the classroom ceiling occurred when heavy rain hit the area.

"At the time the students were having MBG breakfast in class, the ceiling collapsed from the front end of the class. So the students were immediately evacuated to the field by teachers," said the Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD, Isnawa Adji when confirmed.

According to Isnawa, the handling has been carried out by the P2B BPBD, PPSU, Satpol PP, the Department of Land and Natural Resources, the Police and the Koramil Personnel.

"Currently, since 10.39 WIB, it is being handled. The cause is suspected to be due to heavy intensity rain and there is seepage from the school roof to the ceiling," he said.

The collapse of the ceiling of the class was also affected by 4 other classrooms.

"The objects affected were the collapsed ceilings in 4 classrooms of the school building on the 4th floor and the ceilings in the school floor corridors," he said.

Until now, officers are still handling the ceiling of the classroom that collapsed. Fortunately, there were no casualties or casualties due to the incident. However, the loss is estimated at Rp. 70 million.

"There are no victims. The estimated loss is approximately Rp. 70 million," he said.
