KENDARI - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti inaugurated the revitalization of 81 school buildings and two new educational units in the Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra) funded through the 2025 State Budget worth Rp. 122 billion.

"All school revitalization programs in East Nusa Tenggara funded by the 2025 State Budget have been completed 100 percent. The implementation so far has been carried out according to the initial plan, as we see in SMAN 7 Kendari," he said after signing the inscription for the inauguration symbolically at SMAN 7 Kendari in Kendari, Saturday.

In addition to renovating dozens of schools, the central government also inaugurated two new schools to expand access to education in the archipelago, namely SMAN 2 Siompu in South Buton Regency and SMAN 7 Pasarwajo in Buton Regency.

Especially at SMAN 7 Kendari, a budget of Rp. 2.04 billion has been allocated to renovate 11 classrooms, libraries, science laboratories, student council rooms, to school community sanitation facilities.

"We hope that these facilities and infrastructure that have been improved will be maintained and utilized optimally to improve the quality of education, both at the provincial level and at each educational unit," he said.

Abdul Mu'ti also highlighted the progress of digitalization of education in the area with the name "Bumi Anoa". Currently, the distribution of interactive flat panels (IFP) or interactive digital whiteboards in East Nusa Tenggara has reportedly reached 95 percent.

To overcome geographical constraints, the ministry has prepared technological solutions for schools that have not been reached by basic infrastructure.

"For schools that do not have access to the internet, the government provides Starlink services. Meanwhile, for schools that are not electrified, we will equip them with solar panels so that the digital-based learning process continues to run smoothly," he said.

He said the move was part of the government's strategic efforts to produce superior, competitive generations to realize an advanced and dignified Indonesia.

He advised that the assistance of technology facilities should be fully utilized by educators and students to improve digital literacy.
