Eggi Sudjana Meets Jokowi After Admitting Original Degree

SOLO - The suspect in defamation, Eggi Sudjana, met former President Joko Widodo at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, Thursday, January 8.

The meeting took place behind closed doors in the afternoon before Maghrib.

When confirmed, the aide to former President Jokowi, Kompol Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah, confirmed the news.

He said Eggi Sudjana came accompanied by several people.

"Yes, that's right," he said on Thursday, January 8.

They include the suspects in defamation of Damai Hari Lubis, Elida Netty's lawyer, the General Chairman of Jokowi Volunteers (ReJO) Darmizal, and the Secretary General of ReJO Rakhmad.

"This afternoon, Mr. Joko Widodo has received a visit from Brother Eggi Sudjana and Brother Damai Hari Lubis, accompanied by Sister Elida Netty as the legal representative of Brother Eggi Sudjana. The meeting was also accompanied by Mr. Darmizal as the Chairman of the Jokowi Volunteer (ReJO) and Mr. Rakhmad as the Secretary General of ReJO," he explained in a written statement.

Eggi Sudjana's lawyer, Elida Netty, previously said he had turned around and admitted Jokowi's original diploma after seeing the document directly.

Jokowi has also responded to Eggi Sudjana's statement.

He stated that the space for forgiveness was wide open, but the legal process must still proceed.

"Yes, it is original (related to Eggi Sudjana's confession). The matter of forgiveness is a personal matter. Legal matters are legal matters," he explained.

He also opened the door to forgiveness for those who previously accused his diploma of being fake.

"If there is indeed a room for forgiveness, why don't we do it. But once again, the matter of forgiveness is a personal matter. Legal matters are legal matters," he explained.

Jokowi also stated that he was ready to show the original diploma directly if asked in court, including the diploma from elementary school to university.

"If asked by Your Honor the Judge, I will come, especially to show the original diploma of elementary school, junior high school, high school, to S1 I will show everything," he concluded.
