Nuriadin said that the two victims who are still being searched, Andris Pianaung (male) and Leonel Pianaung (male), both residents of Bahu Village, East Siau District.

Search efforts were carried out to the maximum extent through manual searches and the use of heavy equipment to clean up flood materials that closed access and were suspected of burying victims.

This SAR operation activity involves elements of Basarnas, TNI, Polri, Regional Government, community, and the victim's family.

"Until today's SAR operation, the victim has still not been found," he said.

The joint SAR team will continue the search on Friday (9/1) according to the established operation plan.

"Today's search has not found any victims and will continue tomorrow," said Head of Operations Section of Basarnas North Sulawesi, Ida Bagus added.

The flash flood disaster on Siau Island resulted in 17 people dying, two people were not found, houses were damaged and hundreds of residents were displaced.
