Vice President Gives 1,000 Assistance Packages for Victims of the Balangan High Bank Flood

PARINGIN - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has provided 1,000 packages of assistance in the form of basic necessities to flood victims in Tebing Tinggi District, Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan.

The head of the Balangan BPBD said that the priority target would be for residents of Tebing Tinggi District, later closing the gap there would also be assistance from the National Zakat Agency (Baznas).

"Alhamdulillah we received assistance from the Vice President in the form of 1,000 packages of basic necessities, consisting of cooking oil, rice and granulated sugar," said Head of the BPBD Balangan H Rahmi, in Paringin, Thursday, January 8, reported by ANTARA.

Rahmi said that the assistance will be distributed for each family card per one pack of basic necessities.

Meanwhile, Balangan Regent Abdul Hadi, revealed that the assistance provided was a form of attention from the Vice President together with the local government to residents affected by the flood disaster.

The Regent hopes that the assistance that has been distributed can ease the burden of the residents, especially in meeting daily needs, and the government is committed to continue to work to recover the situation after the flash flood.

On this occasion, the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) also directly handed over logistical assistance to accelerate the economic recovery of the people in the form of 300 family logistics packages, 100 school supplies packages for affected students, and 50 sheets of carpet for mosques and mushola that were submerged.
