Satlantas (Traffic Unit) of the Tulungagung Police are investigating a viral obscene video on social media showing a pair of men and women allegedly committing inappropriate acts at the Kemuning four-way police post, Kutoanyar Village, Tulungagung Regency, East Java.

Tulungagung Police Chief AKP Taufik Nabila said his party had followed up on the video by visiting the scene to conduct a direct check.

"After the video went viral, we immediately headed to the location to conduct an inspection. When the officers arrived, the post was empty and no one was found," said Taufik as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 6.

He explained that his members also did not find suspicious items inside the post, including contraceptives, when they checked the crime scene.

The Kemuning four-way police post is an active post used for traffic control, especially in the morning and when there is a heavy flow of vehicles. However, the post is not guarded by officers 24 hours a day.

According to him, the condition of the post which is open and not equipped with a door allows anyone to enter the post area when there are no officers on duty.

"We regret that the police facilities that are still active are actually misused by irresponsible parties," he said.

As a preventive measure, the Satlantas of the Tulungagung Police will increase surveillance at the location, one of which is by placing patrol officers to stand guard periodically.

In addition, his party also plans to install doors and security systems at the Kemuning four-way police post so that it is not easily entered by residents when there are no officers.

Taufik emphasized that the police were still searching for the identity of the couple who were recorded in the viral video by collecting information from a number of witnesses around the location.

"We are still conducting further investigations to ensure the identity of the person concerned and prevent similar incidents from recurring," he said.
