SAR Finds Another 1 Body, Total Victims Killed by Sitaro Sulut Flood Becomes 15 People

JAKARTA - A joint SAR team found another victim who died as a result of the flash flood disaster that hit Siau Island, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi), on Monday, January 5 at around 02.45 Wita.

"The victim was identified as Rahmon Bangsa, a resident of Bahu Village, East Siau District (Sitim). He was previously declared missing due to the flood," said Sitaro Police Chief, AKBP Iwan Permadi, Tuesday, quoted by Antara.

The body was found after an intensive search effort was carried out with local government elements, volunteers, and local people.

With the discovery of a dead victim named Rahmon Bangsa, the total number of casualties due to flash floods on the island of Siau is now 15 people.

Meanwhile, the joint team is still carrying out searches at a number of points affected by floods and landslides, considering that according to reports from residents there are still two victims who have not been found.

The flash flood caused by heavy and intense rain caused heavy damage to residential areas, public facilities, and road access.

A number of residents are still staying at the evacuation site because their houses are severely damaged or can no longer be inhabited.

The local government together with security personnel and related institutions continues to provide logistical support, health services, and assistance for refugees. In addition, the process of data collection of victims and assessment of damage is still ongoing.

"Of course we adjust to the emergency response time that has been set, but we will maximize it as much as possible, so that the victims can be found immediately," said the Police Chief.

Bahu Village: Santi Diamanis (Female), Yantje Tamalonggehe (Male), Florensi Bawolce (Female), Joanita Bangsa (Female), Swingly Dalending (Male), Kananta Kairi Kansil (Baby, Male), EL Kamanang (Child 4 years old, Male), Fardilin Tamalonggehe (Female), Rahmon Bangsa (male)

Laghaeng Village: Rafles Kobis (Male) and Hermina Maningide (Female). Batusenggo Village: Alfian Anise (Male) and Priskila Saol (Female).

Peling Village: Alexius Olongsongke (Male) and Silvia Pamondolang (Female).
