JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has deployed a team to conduct a quick assessment or assessment related to the landslide that occurred in the Kaupas Mountain area, Padarincang District, Serang Regency, Banten Province.

"The BPBD team and related elements have moved to the location of the incident to conduct a quick survey and cross-sector coordination for evacuation readiness," said the Head of the Serang Regency BPBD, Ajat Sudrajat, in Serang, Tuesday, quoted by Antara.

Ajat explained that the landslide was reported at 10.40 WIB in Cibodas Village, Kadubeureum Village. Based on the initial report, the landslide material was about one kilometer from the residential area.

Although there have been no reports of casualties, Ajat emphasized that quick action was needed because the location was on a hillside with a steep slope.

"The estimation of the main threats includes continued land movement and the potential for additional landslides, especially if there is moderate to heavy rainfall," he said.

In this rapid survey process, officers will also map safe routes and evacuation gathering points. BPBD has issued a recommendation that residents temporarily do not carry out activities around the landslide location.

"We recommend massive evacuation if it rains heavily or if there is an indication of further land movement for the safety of residents," he said.
