Mensos: Distribution of BLTS in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra is Above 80 Percent

JAKARTA - Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul said that the distribution of Temporary Cash Direct Assistance (BLTS) through PT Pos Indonesia for three disaster-affected provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar) has been above 80 percent.

"The distribution data in Aceh Province is now 88 percent, although in the field there are constraints on the internet network, for example, the electricity is not stable, access to several districts/cities is still not all penetrable," he said as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 31.

He explained, the total realization of BLTS distributed in Aceh until this afternoon was 206,495 beneficiary families (KPM). The number of BLTS given to each KPM that has been verified throughout Indonesia is IDR 300 thousand per month for three months or IDR 900 thousand.

"The information I received from PT Pos Indonesia, there are three post offices that have not been able to operate in Aceh Tamiang, but, despite the existing constraints, this BLTS is being tried to be distributed to all KPM. In addition to PT Pos, distribution is also through Himbara Bank, and some are delivered to the house if they are elderly or disabled," said Gus Ipul.

Meanwhile, for North Sumatra Province, the BLTS that has been distributed is 81.84 percent with a realization of 464,771 KPM as of this afternoon. Then for West Sumatra has been distributed 83.99 percent with a realization of 225,601 KPM who have received the assistance.

"Until now we continue to fight (channel) so that it can be accepted by those who are entitled," he said.

Previously, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said that the increase in economic impetus in Indonesia had been supported by the distribution of the prosperous BLTS worth Rp31 trillion.

Until now, he said again, the absorption of the assistance has exceeded Rp. 29 trillion and the rest is still in the process of distribution to the community.

"So far it has been more than Rp. 29 trillion, so there is still a little more to be channeled to the community. It should be that the fourth quarter of December this year will have a better economic boost than last year," said Purbaya.
