JAKARTA - KAI Commuter added a travel service for the Commuter Line Jabodetabek on New Year's Eve 2026. The addition was made to anticipate people's mobility to the celebration activity centers which are expected to last until the early hours of the morning.

Additional services are valid from Wednesday, December 31, 2025, to Thursday, January 1, 2026, early morning. In total, KAI Commuter prepared 1,091 Commuter Line Jabodetabek trips during that period.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Karina Amanda said that the policy of adding trips was carried out by considering the trend of passenger movement on New Year's Eve, including the flow of people from the buffer area to Jakarta.

"KAI Commuter is preparing 26 Commuter Line Jabodetabek trips that operate until 01.30 WIB at the initial departure station will be added throughout the cross," said Karina in her statement, Thursday, December 31.

KAI Commuter also adjusts the last travel schedule in each cross. For the Bogor Commuter Line, the last trip from Jakarta Kota Station is scheduled at 01.30 WIB, while from Bogor Station at 00.10 WIB.

"As for the Rangkasbitung Commuter Line, the last departure from Tanah Abang Station is at 01.25 WIB, the Tangerang Commuter Line departing from Duri Station at 01.25 WIB and departing from Tangerang Station at 00.30 WIB," said Karina.

Karina said that with the additional journey, the carrying capacity of the Jabodetabek Commuter Line reached around two million users. However, KAI Commuter predicts that the number of users on New Year's Eve will be around 1.1 million people.

In addition to adding trips, KAI Commuter also alerted service, security, cleanliness, and station health post officers to anticipate a surge in passengers.

In addition, KAI Commuter again reminded users to comply with the rules while at the station or in the train set, including the prohibition of carrying dangerous goods.

"Users are prohibited from carrying firecrackers, fireworks, and other flammable objects during travel. For users who are caught carrying these objects, according to the rules, they will be confiscated by officers, and if they are not willing, the user will be dropped off at the nearest station," he explained.

Karina also appealed to users to continue to prioritize safety during travel, pay attention to gaps on the platform, and maintain order, especially for users who bring children.
