Zulhas, Muhaimin and Dasco Gather at Bahlil's House, Discuss Future Political Agenda

JAKARTA - PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, Gerindra Party Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad gathered at the residence of Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, for a meeting and discussion on future political agendas.

The meeting, as conveyed by Golkar politician and Deputy Chairman of AMPI Arief Rosyid Hasan, took place on Sunday (28/12).

"(Meeting, ed.) silaturahmi and discussion to strengthen the coalition and discuss several political agendas in the future," said Arief Rosyid as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 29.

However, Arief was unable to reveal the "future political agenda" discussed in the meeting between the general chairman and the general chairman of the party.

In the photo shared by Arief, Zulhas, popularly known as Zulkfli Hasan, sits next to Bahlil, and right in front of Dasco. Meanwhile, Muhaimin Iskandar sits next to Dasco, and right in front of Bahlil.

Golkar, PAN, PKB, and Gerindra are currently included in the coalition of parties supporting the government of President Prabowo Subianto, who is the General Chairman of the DPP of the Gerindra Party. In the coalition, there is also the Democratic Party, the Moon Star Party, the Indonesian Wave Party, the PSI, the Garuda Party, PRIMA, and one local party, the Aceh Party.

So far, one of the political agendas that is currently in the spotlight is the discourse to restore the election of regional heads by the DPRD.

Regarding this, the Secretary General of the DPP of the Gerindra Party stated that his party supports the proposal for regional heads at the level of governors to the regent/mayor to be elected by the DPRD.

"Gerindra is in a position to support efforts or plans to implement this election by the DPRD at the level of regent, mayor or at the governor's level," said Sugiono.

Sugiono assessed that the election of regional heads through the DPRD was more efficient than the direct election, as applied since 2005 until the last time in 2024. According to Sugiono, the more efficient process can be seen from the stages of candidate screening, budget mechanisms, to political costs.

The Secretary General of Gerindra continued that in 2015, the grant funds from the Regional Budget for the election of regional heads reached almost Rp. 7 trillion. The amount of grants continued to increase until in 2024 it reached more than Rp. 37 trillion.

"That is a number that can be used for other things that are more productive, efforts to improve the welfare and economy of the people. I think this is something we need to consider," said Sugiono.
