BANDUNG - The Bandung Regency Transportation Office (Dishub), West Java, recorded that as many as 482,437 vehicles had crossed the Bandung Regency tourist route during the Christmas and New Year 2025/2026 weekend.
Head of Transportation Development at the Bandung Dishub, Eric A. Prabowo, explained that the traffic flow data was the result of a recapitulation of the Pangalengan, Ciwidey, and Nagreg tourist areas, which are three prone to density.
"Based on the recapitulation data, a total of 482,437 vehicles have crossed the tourist routes in Bandung Regency, including Ciwidey, Pangalengan, and Nagreg," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 29.
The highest traffic flow density during the weekend occurred on the Nagreg Line, with a total of 265,819 vehicles passing through.
The surge in traffic flow on the Nagreg Line reached around 55 percent compared to the average daily traffic (LHR), triggered by increased community mobility during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
"The surge in traffic flow on the Nagreg Line on Saturday increased by about 56 percent, while on Sunday it was about 55 percent compared to the average daily traffic (LHR)," he said.
Meanwhile, the vehicle flow in the Ciwidey tourist area was recorded as many as 118,439 vehicles, while in the Pangalengan route reached 98,179 vehicles.
On that occasion, he also explained that the surge in traffic flow that occurred on the weekend showed that the peak vehicle density had taken place, especially in the post-Christmas holiday period.
"If you look at the characteristics of the holiday, it seems to have happened. There is still an increase in traffic compared to LHR, but the percentage of increase is predicted not to be as high as last Christmas," he said.
