KPK Starts Calling Witnesses in the North Hulu Sungai Utara 3 Prosecutor Kidnapping Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has begun to call witnesses for the investigation of a case of alleged extortion involving three prosecutors in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency, South Kalimantan.

"The KPK has scheduled an examination of 11 witnesses in the case of alleged corruption related to extortion in the North Hulu Sungai District Attorney's Office. The examination took place at the South Kalimantan Police," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 29.

Budi said the 11 witnesses consisted of FEN as the Director of the North Hulu Sungai Pambalah Regional General Hospital, TS Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the North Hulu Sungai DPRD, NHS as the Head of the North Hulu Sungai Religious Affairs Office, and JUM as the Head of the North Hulu Sungai Education Office. 2022-2024.

In addition, AS as the Head of Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land of North Hulu Sungai, JOH as the former Acting Head of North Hulu Sungai Health, FDM as a functional prosecutor at the North Hulu Sungai District Court, and AD as the Assistant Treasurer of the North Hulu Sungai District Court.

Next, KM as the driver of the Head of the North Hulu Sungai District Attorney's Office, YM as a private party, and MHS as a notary.

Based on the information collected, a number of witnesses are Farida Evana (FEN), Teddy Suryana (TS), Nahdiyatul Husna (NHS), Jumadi (JUM), Amos Silitonga (AS), Herman Johan (JOH), Fajar Dwiki Mulyana (FDM), and Anggun Devianty (AD).

Previously, the KPK carried out the 11th hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in 2025, namely in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency, South Kalimantan, on December 18, 2025.

On December 19, 2025, the KPK announced the arrest of six people in the OTT, including the Head of the North Hulu Sungai District Court, Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu, and the Head of Intelligence of the North Hulu Sungai District Court, Asis Budianto.

On the same date, the KPK announced the seizure of hundreds of millions of rupiah in a case allegedly related to the extortion.

On December 20, 2025, the KPK announced Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu (APN), Asis Budianto (ASB), and Tri Taruna Fariadi (TAR) as the Head of the North Hulu Sungai District Legal and Administrative Affairs as suspects in the alleged extortion case in the law enforcement process in the North Hulu Sungai District in the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

However, on that date, only Albertinus Napitupulu and Asis Budianto were detained by the KPK, because Tri Taruna was still on the run.

On December 22, 2025, the Attorney General's Office handed over Tri Taruna to the KPK. The KPK detained Tri for the first 20 days.
