JAKARTA - The National Police has repatriated nine Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were victims of online scam (online fraud) and online gambling administrators from Cambodia.
The Director of Special Criminal Cases (Dirtipidter) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Brig. Gen. Pol. Moh. Irhamni, in a press conference at the National Police Criminal Investigation Building, Jakarta, Friday evening, revealed that the handling of this case began when the Police Manpower Desk received a report from the victim's parents on December 8, 2025.
In addition to reports, Irhamni said that his party received information from social media about Indonesian citizens who were forced to work as online gambling administrators or online fraud, and experienced physical violence.
"The victims also made a viral video on social media regarding the upload of the victims who asked for help to be repatriated to Indonesia," he said.
Furthermore, on December 15, 2025, the Police Manpower Desk began investigating and coordinating with the Cambodian Immigration authorities to be able to repatriate the victims to their homeland as soon as possible.

After coordinating with the Indonesian Embassy in Cambodia and Cambodian immigration authorities, the nine victims were able to obtain exit permits and were finally able to be repatriated to Indonesia this Friday.
