JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police officially named influencer dr. Samira, known as Detective Doctor (Doktif), as a suspect in the case of alleged defamation through the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE).
Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Wakasat Reskrim) of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Dwi Manggala Yuda, said the determination of the suspect against dr. Samira was carried out on December 12, 2025.
"The handling of the case with the reporter and the reporter, Dr. Samira, has risen to the investigation stage. This matter is related to the alleged defamation as regulated in Article 27A of the ITE Law," Dwi told the media at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Dwi explained that the alleged defamation began with the upload of the Doktif TikTok account which stated that Dr. Richard Lee did not have a Practice Permit (SIP) at his clinic located in Palembang, South Sumatra.
"The defamation point comes from the upload of the Doktif TikTok account stating that Dr. Richard Lee does not have a SIP at his clinic in Palembang," he said.
During the investigation process, the police have examined at least 22 witnesses to strengthen the evidence.
Even though the police have named a suspect, they are still prioritizing mediation between the reporter and dr. Samira. The mediation is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2026.
"If after December 6, 2026, both parties are not present in the mediation, then we will follow up with the summoning of the suspect, namely Dr. Samira or Doktif," said Dwi.
Regarding the detention, Dwi ensured that investigators did not detain the suspect. This is because the article suspected of having a maximum criminal threat of two years in prison.
"For detention we did not do it because of the criminal threat under five years. The person concerned is required to report," he concluded.
Previously, Dr. Richard Lee had reported the Doktif to the South Jakarta Metro Police for alleged violations of the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE) and the Consumer Protection Law.
The report was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Nurma Dewi. Based on his statement, Richard Lee filed a report since February 10, 2025.
"Yes, it's true, February 10, the Doktif account," he said.
