JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating alleged project bribes during the Bekasi Regent's term before Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK) involving a contractor and suspect Sarjan (SRJ).

"Of course the KPK will also investigate, whether this SRJ brother in carrying out the project bribe was carried out at this time or during the ADK Regent period, or was also carried out in previous periods? Of course it is also additional material for investigators to later conduct an in-depth investigation," said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, quoted by Antara.

Budi explained that the KPK conducted the investigation after receiving information about Sarjan's track record in the Bekasi Regency Government, West Java.

"Indeed, we also received initial information that this SRJ brother was also a vendor or provider of goods and services for several projects in the previous Bekasi Regent period," he said.

Therefore, he invited the public, especially in Bekasi Regency, if they have information related to this matter to convey it to the KPK.

"If there is information, there are additional materials, then please convey it to the KPK," he said.

Previously, the KPK carried out the tenth hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in 2025, and arrested ten people in Bekasi Regency, West Java, on December 18, 2025.

On December 19, 2025, the KPK revealed that seven out of ten people were taken to the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, to be intensively examined. Two of the seven people included Ade Kuswara and his father, HM Kunang.

On the same date, the KPK announced the seizure of hundreds of millions of rupiah in a case allegedly related to a project bribe in Bekasi Regency.

On December 20, 2025, the KPK announced that the Regent of Bekasi Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK), the father of the Regent of Bekasi and Head of Sukadami Village, South Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, HM Kunang (HMK), and a private party named Sarjan (SRJ) as suspects in the alleged bribery case.

The KPK said Ade Kuswara and HM Kunang were suspects of receiving bribes, while Sarjan was a suspect of giving bribes.
