BANDUNG - The Forum of Editors-in-Chief of Multimedia Indonesia (FPRMI) officially launched the Pemred Sahabat Desa program, a collaborative initiative involving the editors-in-chief of media in overseeing and strengthening reporting on village development. This program is worked on together with the Ministry of Villages and Regional Development (PDT).
The launch was held on the sidelines of the 2025 National Defense Appreciation at the El Royal Bandung Hotel, Monday night (22/12/2025). This program marks the direct involvement of the media in village issues, from policies to implementation in the field.
The inauguration was marked by the handover of the Editor-in-Chief PIN and cap to the Regent of Maros Chaidir Syam, representative of Apdesi Merah Putih Siti Chasanah, and VOI.id Editor-in-Chief Iqbal Irsyad. The attributes were handed over by the Head of the Center for Development of Policies for Development of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration of the Ministry of Rural Development, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, Agus Kuncoro, accompanied by the General Chairman of FPRMI Bernadus Wilson Lumi.
Bernadus emphasized that the Sahabat Desa Editor was designed as a platform for collaboration between the media and village policy makers - from village heads to regional heads - to ensure that village development is monitored critically and informatively.
"The media not only covers, but also helps ensure that the village issue is understood by the public in a complete and balanced manner," said Bernadus.
Minister of Villages and Local Development Yandri Susanto expressed full support for this program. Through a video message, he called for collaboration between professional journalism and village policies as a strategic step to ensure that village development has a direct impact on the community.
"This is part of President Prabowo's 6th Asta Cita. Village information must empower," said Yandri.
Agus Kuncoro added that media involvement was the key so that village development policies did not stop on paper, but were communicated and monitored by the public.
This program is expected to strengthen the role of the media as a link between policy and village reality throughout Indonesia.
