JAKARTA - Minister of Immigration and Correction (Imipas) Agus Andrianto said that as many as 16,078 Christian and Catholic inmates who have met the requirements for receiving remission on the momentum of Christmas 2025.

The government through the Directorate General of Corrections provided a special Christmas remission (RK) to 15,927 inmates as well as a special Christmas reduction in prison sentence (PMPK) to 151 inmates. Of that number, 174 inmates were immediately free.

"This is not just a reduction in the length of the sentence, but a form of appreciation for achievements, dedication, and discipline in following the training," said Agus in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 14.

Meanwhile, Director General of Corrections (Dirjenpas) Mashudi explained that the recipients of RK and PMPK Christmas had met the administrative and substantive requirements in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Mashudi ensured that the process of giving RK and PMPK was carried out according to an accountable and transparent mechanism.

"All recipients of Christmas remission and PMPK are inmates who behave well, actively participate in the training program, and show a decrease in risk," he said.
