BANJARMASIN - The South Kalimantan Provincial Marine and Fisheries Office (DKP) has distributed food assistance in the form of 2.1 tons of fish for the community and volunteers who manage the public kitchen, as a form of commitment in strengthening social concern and food security.

Head of the Kalsel Provincial DKP, Rusdi Hartonomeny, said that this fish assistance was part of the local government's efforts to provide direct benefits to the community, especially in religious activities involving congregations.

"Through the momentum of 5 Rajab and regular Monday night study in Sekumpul, we strive to provide healthy and nutritious food support. This is a manifestation of the government's concern as well as the spirit of sharing with others," he said in Banjarbaru, Tuesday, December 23, reported by ANTARA.

He said that the assistance was expected to support the consumption needs of the pilgrims who attended and ease the burden of volunteers during the implementation of the activity.

The assistance distributed consists of peda, single fish, and patin fish, with plans for distribution to be carried out on Thursday or Friday, H-2 until at least H-1 before the peak of activities.

Rusdi added that the number of fish assistance this year has increased significantly compared to the previous year.

In 2024, the assistance distributed was around 1.2 tons, this year it increased to 2.1 tons.

"Alhamdulillah, there has been an increase in the number of assistance. Hopefully the fish we distribute can help the needs of the congregation's consumption, strengthen togetherness, and support the smooth running of the study activities," he said.

He hopes that the efforts and contributions made by the West Kalimantan Provincial Government in supporting social and religious activities can bring blessings and wide benefits to the community.

"Hopefully what we are doing is a value of worship and brings blessings for everyone," he concluded.
