Celebrate Nataru Holidays, Engineering Police Lalin Traffic to Bukit Bintang to Bukit Mangunan Bantul

Bantul - The Bantul Police in the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) have prepared traffic engineering (lalin) to face the long Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) holidays in the Mangunan hill tourist area, Dlingo District.

"For Dlingo tourism, buses from Jalan Wonosari are only allowed to pass through Jalan Patuk Dlingo at the Mangunan and Songgo Langit tourist attractions to prevent the potential of 'blong' brakes during descent," said Public Relations Officer of the Bantul Police, Iptu Rita Hidayanto in Bantul, Thursday, quoted by Antara.

According to him, the special arrangement for vehicle traffic to Dlingo hills was imposed to prevent traffic accidents, given the condition of the road which is a steep incline and winding.

"Meanwhile, for the Imogiri-Dlingo route, only four-wheeled and two-wheeled private vehicles can be used to prevent accidents due to large vehicles failing to climb," he said.

He said, as a precautionary measure around the Watu Goyang Mangunan hill, the Bantul Police will coordinate with the local tourism awareness group (pokdarwis) and volunteers to form a tire sealant team on the hill.

Furthermore, he said, while the traffic flow to the Bukit Bintang tourist area in Piyungan which borders Gunungkidul, if the vehicle queue on the Ring Road Simpang Ketandan is extended, the flow will be withdrawn.

"Patrols will also be carried out to appeal not to park or stop on the shoulder of the road. Tolo Tolo installation will be carried out at the Kids Fun four-way intersection and the Wiyoro four-way intersection to prevent cross currents that can trigger congestion," he said.

Meanwhile, the Bantul Police also took steps to anticipate the density of tourist vehicles at the Kabanaran Bridge, a bridge connecting Bantul and Kulon Progo which is on the southern cross-road (JJLS).

He said the density on the Kabanaran Bridge was anticipated by carrying out arrangements at the entrance to the bridge on the east side or the Pandansimo area of Bantul Regency.

"Bantul Police will carry out patrols and appeals so that drivers, especially four-wheelers, do not park along the bridge, of course we also coordinate with the Kulon Progo Police," he said.
