JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) is optimistic that Indonesia will be able to recover after the flood disaster that hit a number of areas in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Because according to the General Treasurer of the PKB DPP, Bambang Susanto, Indonesia has been tested many times by disasters.

"Indonesia is a great nation that has been tested by disasters many times. We are always able to rise," Bambang told reporters, Thursday, December 18.

Bambang also believes that post-disaster handling and recovery will run smoothly and optimally. He said, the state has been present to the fullest extent among the affected communities.

"This is proof that residents are not facing this disaster alone," he said.

According to Bambang, Indonesia's ability to recover from the flood and landslide disasters in several regions of Sumatra is due to the strong national leadership and the solid cooperation of all elements of the nation in responding to disasters.

He assessed that the key to recovery is to maintain the collective belief that Indonesia has the experience, capacity, and adequate resources to face and overcome any disaster.

"Under the strong leadership of President Prabowo, with the solid work of the government and the support of the community at large, we believe that the post-flood recovery in Sumatra will go well and sustainably," he said.

Bambang also emphasized that President Prabowo's leadership was an important factor in ensuring that disaster management was directed and fast.

"In a crisis situation like a disaster, this nation needs strong, strong, and reassuring leadership. We see that it is in President Prabowo. The state is present in a tangible way, moves quickly, and ensures that the people are not left to face the disaster alone," said Bambang.

Bambang said the involvement of various elements ranging from the central and regional governments, political parties, community organizations, volunteers, to the community is a real form of national solidarity, not an event to highlight each other's roles.

"The most important thing is that the affected people really feel the presence of the state. Emergency assistance, social assistance, to economic and infrastructure recovery must go hand in hand," continued Bambang.

He added that the synergy that the government has built so far, supported by compliance and cooperation of all parties, is a strong foundation for the recovery process to take place quickly, orderly, and on target.

"We are optimistic. With unity, discipline, and the leadership of President Prabowo, Indonesia is not only able to recover from this disaster, but also become more resilient in facing future challenges," he concluded.
