Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, said the transfer was carried out by investigators from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police after the prosecutor declared the case file complete, or P21.

"It is true that the second phase is in the East Jakarta Prosecutor's Office with 15 suspects," said Kombes Budi Hermanto to the media, Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Budi said the process of handing over the suspects and evidence or stage 2 was carried out on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Previously, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya opened the possibility of applying Article 338 of the Criminal Code regarding murder and Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder to the perpetrators of the kidnapping and murder of the Head of Branch (Kacab) of a state-owned bank in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, Mohamad Ilham Pradipta.

The possibility of adding the article arose after coordination between investigators and prosecutors.

"Based on the file that we have submitted to the JPU, we have investigated, there are instructions to us to add Article 338 and investigate (the application of Article) 340," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Abdul Rahim, Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

The perpetrators are known to have only been charged with Article 328 of the Criminal Code regarding kidnapping and Article 333 of the Criminal Code regarding the deprivation of someone's freedom.

On the same occasion, Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Putu Kholis Aryana, said that the murder could be charged because the results of the autopsy showed that the victim had suffered injuries from blunt force trauma.

"That according to the results of the autopsy for the cause of death of the victim, this is the existence of blunt force trauma to the neck that presses the airway and the large carotid artery so that it causes symptoms of suffocation," said Putu.
