GORONTALO - Gorontalo Deputy Governor Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie found a number of important notes while conducting a sudden inspection (sidak) to the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) of Hungayonaa Village, Tilamuta District, Boalemo Regency, today.

The findings are a serious concern because they concern the hygiene standards of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program.

Idah, who also serves as the Head of the Gorontalo Provincial MBG Program Task Force, arrived at the location at around 04.30 Wita without prior notice.

Together with the task force team, he immediately reviewed the entire process, ranging from the processing kitchen, cooking process, packaging of food, to the condition of the warehouse for storing wet and dry food ingredients.

"There are several findings that must be improved. This is important so that MBG is really healthy for our children and does not cause things that we do not want together," said Idah as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 17.

One of the main highlights is the food distribution process which has been carried out since 05.00 Wita.

Although the food was prepared for students of PAUD, TK, and SD who have an early meal schedule, the Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene standards during the distribution process.

"This is for PAUD, TK, and SD, who eat earlier, but I hope that when distribution is maintained, hygiene is maintained," said Idah.

The MBG Task Force team also noted that there was no adequate sink facility in the food distribution and processing areas. The existing sink is not equipped with running water, soap, hand dryer, or tissue.

In addition, officers were still found washing their hands in the raw material management area, which should not be allowed.

The condition of the food processing room is also a concern. The room temperature was recorded at 44 degrees Celsius and was considered too hot for food processing activities. The location of the toilet which is right in front of the dishwashing area, the storage of garbage which is still mixed with the raw food area, and the sampling of food which has not been in accordance with the standard are also important notes.

"This sampling is important. Don't just take one spoon. If something happens like poisoning, the health team will have trouble checking. More samples must be taken and in proportion," said Idah.

All findings from the inspection will be included in the minutes and the management will be given a 14-day repair period. SPPG Hungayonaa is known to manage around 2,859 meals every day, consisting of 1,912 large portions for SMP/MTs and SMA/MAN students, 783 small portions for SD/TK/PAUD, and 164 portions for toddlers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers (3B).
