KPK Searches Office House, Acting Governor of Riau: If You Don't Do It, Why Should You Be Allergic

PEKANBARU - The Acting Governor of Riau SF Hariyanto emphasized that he respected and supported the legal process carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) after his official residence was searched in connection with the investigation of the alleged extortion and gratification cases in the Riau Provincial Government environment.

"If you don't do it, why should the KPK monitor the allergy. We should even support the steps to eradicate corruption in the region, so that it doesn't happen again," SF Hariyanto told reporters in Pekanbaru, Antara, Tuesday, December 16.

SF Hariyanto said that the search carried out by the KPK on Monday was part of the commitment of the regional government in realizing good and clean governance. He emphasized that the Riau Provincial Government was open and cooperative to every legal process that was running.

"We represent the Riau Provincial Government, of course, respect and support the KPK's steps. Regarding information on the examination, we are open and fully support efforts to eradicate corruption," he said.

Responding to information from the KPK Spokesperson regarding the seizure of money and documents from his official residence, SF Hariyanto stated that he did not mind it. According to him, the seizure was the authority of the investigators and had nothing to do with him personally.

He also emphasized that the search was not related to the alleged extortion case that ensnared the non-active Riau Governor Abdul Wahid along with a number of other suspects.

"Please, it's part of the legal process. We leave it entirely to the KPK and are ready to help if needed," he said.

SF Hariyanto added that during his duty as Acting Governor of Riau, he tried to work according to the rules and regulations in force. Therefore, he admitted that he was not worried about the law enforcement process carried out by the police.

"Insyaallah we work according to the rules in place. If you don't do it, of course there is nothing to worry about," he said.

Previously, the KPK carried out a search at the official residence of the Acting Governor of Riau, which is located on Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Pekanbaru City. The search was related to the investigation of the case of alleged extortion and gratification in the Riau Provincial Government environment which had been investigated since the beginning of November.

In this case, the KPK has named three suspects, namely the non-active Riau Governor Abdul Wahid, Head of the Riau PUPR-PKPP Office Muhammad Arief Setiawan, and Expert Staff to the Riau Governor Dani M Nursalam.
